I have become good at setting boundaries and being human. Does that mean I am no longer a mermaid?
Q: You have mentioned in your book and on your websites that incarnated mermaids often have trouble setting boundaries and being successful in the human world. Since I have become very good at these things, does it mean that my water element is gone, and I must go back to being someone who isn’t good at taking care of myself anymore? Can I lose my mermaid nature by learning how to be a good human?
A: Once you have water in your aura, it does not just disappear. What I hoped to convey in my writings is that souls who primarily reside in the mermaid realm who then come to earth are rare-They are not used to our world. That culture shock when they come here is not what makes them a mermaid, but it can indicate that they have not been to earth very much. Only possessing experience related to the mermaid realm is a factor that can throw them for a loop. (Ex: There is no crime in the mermaid realm and no reason to learn how to set boundaries.) Coming here is new to those types of souls, and physical incarnations are infrequent. Astral mermaids have their entire purpose in the astral realm, so it doesn't make sense to walk the earth in physical form most of the time. Beings who only have experience in the mermaid realm almost never incarnate (Isaphil is an exception). More people are like me with a stronger starseed vibration, which means we have more experiences and incarnations in different places. In fact, astral mermaids are not concerned with what they are or with their identities. They have their purposes, but those purposes don’t contribute to a sense of self as they will for other universal entities. You being curious about what you are in terms of identity and behavior is much more of a human trait, which is good! Identity is important to many beings in the universe, and you will be able to understand them on a personal level that mermaids will not. Mermaids have powerful empathy of course, but there is something to be said for individual experience. =)
It is natural for everyone to learn to adapt and survive in the human sphere. Some souls who have a short cosmic resume (only in the mermaid realm for example) never figure it out and don’t live many lives here or anywhere other than the mer realm. I think they mostly incarnate just to get a taste of the world they run parallel with, but not to have a full-blown human experience. I only know like 2 or 3 of these types of people scattered all over the world. Most of us are not like these souls. We might have spent some time in the mermaid realm or in a realm like it with strong watery constitutions, but most of us are having diverse experiences all across the universe from life to life.
What we don’t want to do is regress and hurt our potential to be all we can be in this world. You and I have water elements in our auras AND we are human. More than likely, we have been many other things as well! My aura is also interesting because my air element and water element are blended as if they are a single aspect. Of course, liquid water on earth has oxygen, but air does not translate literally to oxygen or any other breathable constituent in spiritual terms. My aura isn’t a compound like liquid water, but almost like a new element of sorts… It is very vaporous and not dense at all. This has effects on people and environments around me, some desirable and some not, just depending on the situation.
Developing boundaries is something everyone needs to learn to do on the earth plane, and doing so does not rid someone of astral immortality. Furthermore, one does not develop a strong water element or any other element by disregarding their personhood. That is attained through magical training and development, which we have many useful systems for here on earth (Franz Bardon’s approach for instance). If you have developed water or any other element in your aura through magical training, the elementals see you as one of their own, even if you have not incarnated in their realm. Developing healthy human traits does not erase other forms of mastery you have cultivated.
I think a lot of us hit some sort of learning curve when we incarnate here. Earth is a unique experience to be sure- Incarnated mermaids just have extra difficulties since most of them lack any exposure to planetary conflict, insecurity, and human emotions like jealousy. You can see a tinge of that sometimes in people who have been to other places (Earth gives you a wake-up call no matter where you’ve been lol.), but they figure things out quickly. Most incarnated mermaids who come here do not last for long and have a different universal purpose than the rest of us do. Incarnations from souls with such a specific and limited range are rare. Many starseeds can have a strong water element (or liquid of some sort) acquired from other places and training though!
Almost everyone on earth is a starseed. We incarnate in many places to gain experience and attain a level of personal development that satisfies us. One of the best skills a soul can develop is adaptability. It does not mean you have to blend in completely or sacrifice your sense of self, but it does mean that you create love, justice, and peace wherever you go while working within the matrix or field you land in. Don’t tell the mermaids I said this, but adaptability is a skill I value even more highly than a watery aura all on its own. A soul may have much to give and gift to a realm, but if they can’t deliver it, it defeats the main purpose of incarnating, though the soul may get something out of it they can take back with them. Keep setting boundaries, doing what you love, and being your authentic self! The water element was never meant to stand on its own—We must integrate all the elements to be balanced, and being human is just a little chip in the mosaic of all our incarnations. Make it into the best journey you possibly can! <3
